There can be a whole host of reasons you need to troubleshoot your refrigeration system. While there are some cases where you will need to call in a professional for your refrigeration system troubleshooting, there are plenty of things you can do yourself that may help save a call to your local refrigeration repair service. Follow these refrigeration system troubleshooting tips the next time you have issues with your refrigeration system.

Oil issues can plague many refrigeration systems. There tends to be a couple paths of thought when it comes to the amount oil you should have in your refrigeration system. The first is that you should have from one-third to two-thirds of the sight glass full of oil. Others may say as long as there is oil in the sight glass, your system should be good to go. The important thing to remember here is to keep your oil level below the top of the sight glass to avoid any trouble.

Noncondensables in the system can also cause a lot of headaches for owners of refrigeration systems. The easiest way to check if this is your issue is by shutting off your system until it reaches ambient temperature. At this point, check the discharge pressure of your system. If the system pressure is too high, you likely have noncondensables in your system.

These are just a couple of the more common troubleshooting issues associated with refrigeration systems. If you are in doubt, you can always contact a local professional for assistance.
