Every day, most of us make use of a variety of small objects that range in size from a sheet of paper folded into thirds, to a fingernail – or even tinier! Most of the time, we take these objects for granted, but life would be dramatically different without them. These things are batteries. They’re prevalent in so many of the devices we use every day, but are most often hidden, so we don’t think about them until their charge runs out and we have to either recharge or buy new batteries. You might already be thinking about stocking up on a popular brand and size of battery, such as Rayovac Ultrapro batteries AA.

The most commonly used everyday batteries are the ones that come in flat shapes and are often manufactured for a specific product, such as cell phones, certain MP3 players, and laptops. Other battery-operated devices, like radios, clocks, and portable games, usually run on batteries that have been given standardized sizes, like D, C, and 9V. AA batteries, like Rayovac Ultrapro batteries AA, are one of the most widely-used battery sizes, because of the amount of small devices that they power.

An interesting project would be to try to survive for one week without any batteries whatsoever. Right away you’d know you’d have to do without your cell phone, MP3 player, and laptop. Soon you’d be frustrated as you learn that you also can’t use your desk computer (if your mouse or keyboard is cordless), your cordless home phone, or motorized transportation – since cars also use battery power to start up.

Now you’re realizing that life would be very inconvenient without batteries – but can everyone survive without them? Many vital devices, such as home alarm systems and smoke detectors, use batteries like Rayovac Ultrapro batteries AA. Hospitals and medical patients rely on batteries of all sizes for their medical equipment and electronic health devices. The average person might be able to make it for a day or a week without battery power of any kind, but some people really do rely on batteries for not only their health, but their lives!
